Privacy notice
Version 2026-10-17 · Back to the upload page · Terms of use
This service is run by Gunner Hardy. Questions or requests: [email protected]. It reads a whole-genome file you upload and builds a one-page personality report. A genome is the most identifying data a person has: it cannot be changed like a password, and it also describes your blood relatives. The service is built to keep as little as possible, for as short a time as possible.
What we receive
- Your genome file (a VCF), uploaded by you.
- Your email address, only if you choose to have the report emailed.
- Your network address, held in memory for up to one hour to limit how often a file can be submitted.
- The time you gave consent and the version of these terms you agreed to.
We do not ask for your name, date of birth, or any account. There are no cookies, no analytics and no advertising trackers on these pages.
What we do with it
- Your genome file is read once, on our own server, to compute your report. It is deleted as soon as the report is built, whether or not the build succeeds. If the service restarts while a file is waiting, that file is deleted at the next start.
- Your email address is used once, to send the finished report as an attachment, and is then discarded. It is never written to disk, logged, or added to any list.
- Your report is kept on the server for 72 hours so you can open it at its private link, then deleted automatically. Save or print it if you want to keep it.
- A record of each request is kept without genotypes, file name or email address: an anonymous identifier, its status, timestamps, your consent version, and a short processing log.
What we never do
- We do not sell, rent or share your genome, your report or your email address with anyone.
- We do not use your genome to train models, add it to a research database, or keep any copy of it.
- We do not send your data to any outside service to compute the report: everything runs on our server. If you ask for email, your report travels through our email provider to your mailbox.
How it is protected
- The site is served over an encrypted connection (HTTPS).
- Your report is reachable only at a long random link (144 bits), which is not shown to search engines and is not passed on to other sites when you click a link.
- Pages carry strict security headers and are not stored in browser caches.
Your choices
- You can leave the email field empty and keep the report only in your browser.
- You can ask us to delete your report before 72 hours have passed, or ask what we hold, by writing to [email protected] with the link to your report. Because we keep no genome and no email address, the link is the only thing that connects a request to you.
- Depending on where you live, you may have further rights over genetic data (for example under the EU and UK GDPR, or US state laws such as the Illinois Genetic Information Privacy Act). Write to us to exercise them.
Who may use it
You must be 18 or older, and upload only your own genome or a genome whose owner has given you permission.
Changes
If this notice changes, the version above changes, and the upload page asks for consent to the new version.
